Robin Newhouse
Instructor
Robin has been with Sylvan since June of 2005. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Robin is certified in almost all of our Sylvan Programs. Robin chose education as her field because she enjoys helping others learn new skills. In her free time, Robin enjoys walking her dog, reading and cross-stitch.
Amy Robinson
Instructor
Amy has been with Sylvan since September of 2005. She is a graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Amy is certified to teach all of our Sylvan Programs but her favorite is Math Essentials and Algebra. She enjoys working with kids in a one on one basis and loves the camaraderie between teachers and students at Sylvan. In her free time, Amy likes to read.
Lisa E Milkereit
Director
Lisa has been with Sylvan since April of 2002. She is our Director of Education and is responsible for the implementation and upkeep of all of the programs for our students. She is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Lisa enjoys working at Sylvan because she enjoys seeing students learn how to be successful. In her free time, Lisa likes to read, shop, and attend Central High School and Illini basketball games. GO MAROONS!!!!!
Christine E Humes
Director
Chris has been with Sylvan since March of 2003. She began working in the Springfield center and moved to Champaign in March of 2005 to become the Center Director. Chris is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Her favorite thing about working at Sylvan is getting to know the kids. In her free time, Chris likes to spend time with family and friends, watch movies and play with her cat, Quimby.
Kimberly Mathias
Instructor
Kim has been with Sylvan since August of 2004. She is a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in English with a teaching certificate. Kim is certified to teach the Academic Reading program and the Math Essentials program at Sylvan. Her favorite part of teaching at Sylvan is seeing students progress and succeed within a small group setting. In her free time, Kim enjoys playing with her baby, traveling overseas, cake decorating and water aerobics.
Beth Vredenburg
Instructor
Beth has been with Sylvan since August of 2005. She is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Beth is certified in all of our Sylvan Programs and enjoys teaching Academic Reading best of all. Beth decided to become a teacher because she wanted to be a positive influence in kids lives.. In her free time, Beth enjoys doing crafts, reading and spending time with friends. GO SOONERS!!!!
Bridget Meis
Instructor/Test Administrator
Bridget has been with Sylvan since October of 2004. She is a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Bridget is certified in all of our Sylvan Programs and is our Saturday Lead Teacher/ Test Administrator. Bridget’s favorite thing about working with the kids at Sylvan is seeing students become proud of themselves. In her free time, Bridget enjoys reading and playing with her kitten.
MaryAnn Ribelin
Instructor/Test Administrator
MaryAnn has been with us since August of 2005. She is a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Social Work. MaryAnn is certified to teach all of our Sylvan Programs, but her favorite is Math. MaryAnn has also been our Test Administrator since September of 2005 and enjoys working with the kid’s because they are full of surprises. In her free time, MaryAnn enjoys taking classes, playing ultimate frisbee and singing.
