Sylvan's Longmont tutors teach skills that last a lifetime. See what we've been up to lately!
August 2008 - Organization and time management skills are two big reasons behind lack of success in school. Sylvan of Longmont can help! The Study Skills program is designed to help modify the behaviors leading to disorganization and poor time management skills. Give your student that extra boost they need to achieve their goals. Call your local Sylvan for more information.
Who stole the toys from the Sylvan store? Mystery week was the talk of the Longmont Sylvan center this past month. The students worked together, using clues provided, to figure out who the thief was. Turns out it was Jonathan, who was just plain sick of those "squawkin’ chickens!" Theme weeks will continue into August. We will be having a Mythbusters week, where we’ll do some experiments during transition time. Mentos and Diet Coke anyone?
In addition, during the month of July, all assessments will be $99. Now is a great time to make sure your student is ready for the next school year. Come and join the fun of summer at Sylvan!
June 2008 - Throughout the summer, Sylvan of Longmont will be running theme weeks. Sports Week (June 2-7) has been a huge success. On certain days you could have seen the students fishing for tokens, playing Sylvan Golf, or a center favorite....Token Toss! The next week the students will be traveling "Around the World in five days!" There will be a raffle at the end of the month for a Sylvan frisbee!
May 2008 - The end of the school year is fast approaching, and now is the perfect time to think about summer. Sylvan of Longmont will be offering specialty camps starting mid-July. Many are a simple one-week, 10-hour commitment that focuses on a particular skill. No initial assessments are required, and space is limited to eight students per camp. Call us today for more information.
Don’t let your students get behind over the summer months. Studies have shown that students can lose as much as 3-5 months of learning over the summer break. Sylvan of Longmont is now gearing up for Summer and are collecting Summer schedules. Call the center today at (303) 485-3218 for hours.
For our older students in grades 9 and above, we will be offering a new Sylvan Elite camp this summer. This camp will teach techniques for writing research papers as well as increasing reading speed and comprehension. Call Sylvan Longmont for details.
