"I am writing this letter to let you know what we have experience with our son Derek since he began attending Sylvan.

We started Derek at Sylvan in April 2001 for help with math, which at that time was geometry. Derek was a sophomore and was really struggling with math. His grades were suffering in his other subjects as well, because he would get frustrated spending so much time on his math homework that he would run out of time and patience to complete his work in in his other classes.

Derek has been attending Sylvan twice a week ever since and I am extremely please and impressed with the progress he has made. Not only did he receive an A- on his last report card in 2nd year Algebra, he also got A's and B's in his other classes as well. These are the best grades he has ever received. He completes his homework more quickly and with little, if any frustration. The self-confidence he has gained by becoming more proficient in math has carried over into all his subects and school is by far a more pleasant experience for him.
